Pre-Study and Business Case

Assess your CRM project before you invest.

Assess a CRM investment, automation opportunity or AI pilot with clear scope, costs, benefits and risks, so you can decide what is worth doing and how to begin.

Considering a CRM or AI investment?

For teams assessing a CRM project, Copilot adoption, automation or an agent opportunity before agreeing the scope or budget.

Your business case

  1. Business needs and benefits
  2. Scope, costs and readiness
  3. Options and next steps

A few organizations we've worked with

What’s included

Understand the value, the work and the risks.

We bring business and technical findings together so you can compare your options and see what still needs to be confirmed.

Analysts and a business owner examining CRM baseline evidence and benefit assumptions
What we work towards

Need + baseline + benefit

01 / Establish the evidence

Clarify the need and potential value

Define the work to improve, who it affects and how to measure progress. Less administration, faster follow-up or better decisions need a starting point.

  • Business needs and success measures
  • Starting figures and expected benefits
  • People affected and owners of each benefit
Consultant and stakeholders mapping CRM scope, systems, data and dependencies
What we work towards

Scope + feasibility + readiness

02 / Test scope and feasibility

Assess scope, costs and readiness

Assess the data, integrations, permissions and adoption work needed, including AI governance where relevant.

  • Processes, capabilities and technical feasibility
  • Data, integrations, security and licensing needs
  • Delivery, training, internal effort and ongoing costs
Executive sponsor and delivery lead reviewing CRM investment scenarios and decision conditions
What we work towards

Proceed + reshape + pause

03 / Support the decision

Compare options and next steps

Compare a full project, a smaller release or a focused pilot. Test the important uncertainties before committing to a wider rollout.

  • Options, tradeoffs and a practical pilot or first phase
  • Risks, dependencies and assumptions to check
  • A recommendation and next decision points

We agree the study around the decision you need to make. It provides enough technical detail to assess feasibility and key risks; detailed solution design follows during implementation unless a specific uncertainty needs deeper investigation first.

How we work

From a project idea to an informed decision.

  1. 01

    Agree the decision

Define what you need to decide, who should be involved, what success means and which evidence is already available.

  2. 02

    Assess what is needed

Review processes, systems, data readiness and people to test feasibility, governance needs and readiness for change.

  3. 03

    Compare the options

Bring estimated benefits, costs, effort, timing and risks together, with the assumptions behind each option clearly stated.

  4. 04

    Set out the next step

Recommend whether to proceed, phase, reshape or pause the project, including any further checks needed before committing.

What you take away

A clear business case. A practical next step.

We agree the outputs with you at the start. Benefits and costs are estimates based on the information available, with gaps and assumptions recorded so you can review them before approval.

  1. 01

Agreed business need, decision criteria and success measures

  2. 02

Scope, technical feasibility and readiness findings

  3. 03

Estimated benefits, delivery and ongoing costs, with their assumptions

  4. 04

An option comparison with risks, dependencies and open questions

  5. 05

A recommendation, possible phases and the next steps to confirm

FAQs

Your questions, answered.

A few practical answers before we talk about your project.

When do we need a pre-study rather than a CRM strategy?

A strategy sets your broader CRM direction. A pre-study assesses a specific initiative to help decide whether to invest, which scope or phase to approve, or whether Dynamics 365 fits. It can also recommend reshaping or pausing the project, or gathering more evidence. We agree the decision to support at the start.

What affects the cost and timing of the pre-study?

The size of the decision, available information and depth of technical investigation affect the study's effort, cost and timing. We agree the scope and participation with your decision owner and colleagues who understand your processes, systems and costs.

Which costs and benefits does the business case cover?

Within the agreed scope, we assess subscriptions, implementation, data, integrations, environments, testing, security, training, change, internal effort and ongoing support and improvement. Benefits are estimates based on agreed baselines and assumptions, not guaranteed returns. Actual value depends on delivery, adoption and operating conditions. Your organization owns the outcomes, and current supplier prices must be validated before approval.

How much technical detail is included?

Enough to test feasibility and expose material cost or risk. Detailed solution design belongs in the implementation lifecycle unless a specific technical uncertainty needs deeper investigation before the decision.

Can Copilot, agents and automation be included?

Yes, when tied to defined work and outcomes. We assess whether standard Microsoft capability, a workflow or an agent fits the need. Data readiness, integrations, permissions, human review and ongoing costs inform the business case. A focused pilot can test uncertain benefits before a wider rollout; a demonstration alone is not evidence of business value.

What happens after the study?

You use the findings to decide the next step. Nemely can support follow-on work within a separately agreed scope. The documented decisions, assumptions and scope can also guide another qualified delivery team; you do not have to use Nemely for implementation.
